One of the many things I love about blogging is that every now and again I come across a product that I know will change our lives for the better.
Nuby’s Thirsty Kids cups are one such product.
As regular readers of the blog will know, getting Number Two to drink enough fluids has been an ongoing battle since birth.
And whilst he has been eating a little more for the last few months, getting him to drink more than a few sips has been a constant struggle.
So much so that my cupboard contains one of virtually every style of cup on the market. He likes them all and seems to enjoy using them. But never for more than a small sip at a time.
So when Nuby asked us if we would like to try out their new cup, designed specifically with keeping children hydrated in mind I was interested to see what would happen.
I was not however expecting to see the dramatic difference that I did. Within less than an hour of having it, Number Two drank the whole bottle.
An amount it would normally take him a full week to drink.
The Other Half and I were excited but more than a little bit skeptical. In fact we kept expecting to see a pool of water somewhere in the house.
It wasn’t until we met up with friends that afternoon and Number Two continued to drink that we began to hope that maybe this cup was different.
In fact it was so different that all of the babies wanted to use it.
In the two hours that we were there, Number One drank another half bottle, one friend’s son drank a full bottle and another also looked delighted to be giving it a try.
I have no idea how Nuby have done it. But I suspect their unique spout (large and flexible), has something to do with it.
What I do know is that the other mums in our friendship group are all desperate to go out and buy one. Having seen for themselves just how willing toddlers are to drink from it.
With our holiday coming up later in the month, I know this cup is going to be a game changer for us.
I can feel the worry about keeping Number Two hydrated in the heat slipping away.
And I’m even beginning to think that giving up Breastfeeding during the day is becoming a real possibility.
It’s been a long journey but it seems like maybe we are finally getting there.
Don’t just take my word for it though. Why not watch our little video and see just how much Number Two loves his new cup. It’s less than a minute long and guaranteed to give you a giggle.
